opinions needed for brake setting in ESC

    hello there fellow flyers!

would like to ask your opinions here.. should i fly planes with the brake setting ON or OFF?

and can i know the difference with it being turned on/off?

will it have any effects, like power, efficiency of the motor, or sucking many amps, etc..

    thanks for ur time!

I fly aerobatics with brakes "off" this will allow the prop to freewheel causing drag when the motor power is cut off. It slows the aircraft in the down lines. So in effect, it is like turning the brakes on for the plane (i.e. slows it down) Gliders and folding prop planes will have the brakes set to "on" as it will stop the prop and cause less drag. It will also allow the folding props to fold. And the plane will glide with less drag. Normally scale lookng planes should also have it set to "off" as a real aeroplanes never have the propellors stop in flight.
