    AWG wire help

    Hi all,
Can a lipo battery with 10 awg wire be connected to a 12 awg application? will it cause failure to both? Thank you

Wire gauge (AWG) is an indication of how much current a particular wire can carry safely. Smaller AWG = Larger diameter wire conductor = Higher current carrying capability.

In the event of excessive current, your 12 AWG wire will fail first.

Thanks for the enlightenment. My lipo battery has capacity of 6000mah i guess these awg maximum amps for power transmission for 10- 12 dwg are rated 15 and 9.3 amp. i am still within specs and in safe zone right?
