Not all demaged servo can't be re-cycle. Open it and have a look at the gears. If the demaged gears are larges ones, chances is you could rotate the demaged gears to the side that is good.

The large gears usually turns at less than 45 degree; so you still have the other side of the gear.

I have managed to repair 3 servos without having to replace the demaged gears.

The only gear that "rotates less than 45 deg" is the final gear (the one with the servo horn attached to it.) Before using the repaired servo, test it - set Tx atv to max on both side to check if everything is ok.
