    Futaba or JR (9 channel)

    Hi all,

Ready to upgrade my tx, but dun seem to know which to go for. Was thinking of the JR9XII but then saw many sellers for the 9CHP. In terms of receiver prices, which is cheaper or rather compatible with other brands of receivers coz I see myself buying a couple of other r/c toys in future, therefore will have the need to purchase more receivers.

    Do enlighten me... Cheers

I've seen people switching from Futaba 9C to 9XII for reason that 9XII is easier to configure, but rarely seen anyone switching from JR to Futaba Feel wise are subjective, but most people I know prefers the 9XII, as I myself feel that it has the right feel and weight, but some prefers the 9C because stick movement are closer.

As for modulation. I'll prefer the best of both, as you may want to use a 2.4Ghz for more expensive models, while you don't want to end up putting a $100+ 2.4Ghz rx in a $50 plane for example, and especially if you plan on getting many rx.. and both 9C and 9XII has support for both PCM/PPM and 2.4G modules.

Meanwhile. Good luck on your search.

don't go for the futaba 9C series remote, even if it is 2.4ghz. Go for the JR series.

Reason because the latency for the 9C series is much higher than ANY of the other tx in the market now.

                    Source is from here:

there are other threads in other forums that talks about this. So for now, just stay away from the futaba 9C series.

Not that it is no good, but just that since you are upgrading, you want the best upgrade value. Hence, i'll recommend the JR 9XII. Style, comfort, ease and performance for money.

Just my opinion, opinions open to anybody who wishes to voice otherwise.

Thank you guys for your valuable feedback. After researching and asking and browsing around, I am more convinced that I will get the JR system. But headache now is whether to go for 9XII or DSX9.

Hoppie, when you meant best of both world, you mean get the 9XII, then get the 2.4 module? Coz from what I gathered, DSX9 module is integrated ya? I realised that the rx prices for 2.4 & synthesized rx are similar, therefore I am leaning towards the 2.4, just that the price is steep, almost 200 bucks more..

Also understand from other threads that there are no warranty for these systems, so will it make more sense to purchase it online? Anyone has any suggestive sites to look at? And also, are there any implications when purchasing online? This being the biggest ticket item for me, I have to be very careful going about making this purchase.

Once again, thank you all and please keep the comments/feedback coming.. I have a couple weeks more to go before payday my heli will no longer be grounded...

                      Cheers

Oh what i mean is DSX9 is a JR9X2 with 2.4 so you get best of both world.

                        Typical RRP:
                        AR6200 - $149
                        AR7000 - $179
                        AR9000 - $256

                        Typically AR6200 is good enough.

Hopefully when payday comes, there are still DSX9 available.. Seems like its selling like hotcakes..

Anyone has any idea which LHS provide warranty for the radio? Read from JR site and other forums that the radio does comes with warranty, in the States, the box of the radio states a 3 year warranty. Anyone able to clarify on this?

Please keep the comments coming... Thanks
