    Why battery connector is hot?

My small BL motor with 2s1p 1300mah has been doing very well for lazy evening flight.

However, after stop flying for 1+ month, now the plane fly with no power after 10sec or so. And the battery connector is hot, if I continue to go full throttle, the wire between battery and ESC will get hot too.

What is the problem? Pls advise. Thks.

    What connectors u using???

More resistance = more heat produce = wastage of energy turned to heat.

Something like a thermo-couple using in elec kettles.

Is the battery hot? If not, change the connector and see how. Is the battery fully charged?

My guess is u referring to the JST connector as in the pic.

JST type of connector is good for up to 5A only. I suggest u go for this :

Sorry I made mistake in my previous post.
Yes, it is the JST type. The batteries are fully charged (tested both).
It worked very well for the past 7-8 months, but why get hot now?
The connector get hot first then the battery become warm. Battery warm is normal i think.

Actually is the connector oxidized -> poor contact!
After I sprayed some PHILIPS deoxidizer, the plane now fly ok. In fact is more powerful than before. The connector and wire no longer heated up.

poor connection or loose connection is usually the culprit if your amp rating is ok....

I've melted 100 amp power cables for 220v when one nut wasn't tightened enough...

                    Spark arc damaged the cable?
