Please tell me about voltage and amp meters

Hi guys,

I would like to find out about the meters that people tell me about using in RC hobby, you know, that kind that people use to measure current and voltage outputs in their batteries and how many amps the motor is pulling?

Is it just a normal meter or do we need a special meter for that? How to connect to battery?
