Hi,
Better to get a set with Tx, 4 servo and a receiver plus battery and charger. Value for money. You can check the price around. Rotor, JH, RCE carries them.
If you are runing tight on budget, try the market place. a used Tx only should be abour $180/-.
Optic 6 is value for money and has all the features you need for heli/ plane / etc. You can read about the review from this web site. Contains alot of useful information and answers all your questions:
