    Alternative choice of servos

    Hi guys,
So far the Hitec HS-55 has proven to be a reliable choice for most of our planes. I am wondering if there is another cheaper alternative to this servo replacement with the same reliability coz think few of my servos are wearing out. And where to get it? The price etc... thanks for the help...
    Can post your reviews?

        Why not try BlueBird Servos?
I think they are value for money. Been using them from plane to heli & almost everything. So far so good & their colour look cool also

          Hi,

The Dynam servos is being installed all round inside our Katana Mini already... and they have no problems at all... except rudder which have gears stripped due to hard landings (which was replaced instantly)

All in all this Dynam servos are getting popular for electric as well as spare gear support very easily available...

Regards and thanks for your referral

            Servo

I have a few HS55 having centering problem after a crash.
Noticeable play on new Dynam 8.4g servos.
Towerpro 5g and 9g cheap and good.
            HS56/65 exp and v.good

            Thanks

              Ya agree with your reviews.
But TP sometime have QC problem & Hitec is Ex.
That's why I go for BlueBird servos.

Towerpro 9g 5g is a strick no no. They have unpredictable erratic behaviour when u least expect it.

I agree, TP QC no good.
For my case, test first before install on plane/heli.
                  I have
                  1) ZAP400 using TP 3x9g on cyclic and 5g on tail
                  2) TP 2x5g on IFO

I have new Tucano with TP 2x5g,
                  Will change to HS55.

                  Thanks

Spare gear/case replacement is very important. Once gear stripped if no eaily replacement, ordering from oversea takes a while and shipping cost for small items is not worth it.

My question is, when does one use a HS55 (or similar) and when to use a HS81?
                      I can haz diving?

                        Hi
That would largely depend on your applications. E.g. for plane like electric cub HS55 or equiv is sufficient. But if for pylon you may need one with high speed & torque servo.

Generally, most manufaturer will provide a simple recommendation guide like this http://www.zhobbyshop.com/Zweb/servoguide.pdf
