    Hitec Receiver

    Hi All

Need the experts advice here. I am using a Sanwa (Airtronic) RD8000 radio and wanted to purchase a 3rd party receiver like Hitec for my plane. I have visited my local disty for Hitec but they are not sure too. I am looking at the Electron 6 and the Super Slim series(
http://shop.rotor.com.sg/prod-list.asp?catid={81ABE819-6A4B-4EBB-8229-73006DB27B44}) . Below is the questions that need help:

    1) Can both series be used for my radio?
    2) Is it true that I cannot use the dual conversion for my radio? Why?
    3) Must I purchased 1 pair of crystals(Hitec) to plug into both my radio and the receiver?

    Many thanks and best regards
    Ande02

i hope this can help you Ande02,

i am using RD6000 radio and i have 3rd party RXs like GWS and Hitec. i am using Hitec Super Slim Rx which is on 40MHz for my 40 sizer... and yes, i am using dual conversion crystal for that RX.

    1) i believe you can use the electron6 and super slim series on rd8000 if you're on 40MHz as 40MHz band do not understand any negative or positive shifts.

    2) you can use dual conversion crystals on your radio.

    3) it is safest to use sanwa crystals on your TX and hitec dual conversion crystals on the RX (if the RX requires dual conversion, use dual conversion.. if requires single conversion, use single conversion).

ultimately, bring ur radio down to LHS to test it out. rotor allows testing if u ask nicely.

any questions, u can PM me

      Hi rifqi

Thank you so much for the fast response. Lucky to say that I am on also on the 40MHz band. I certainly agree that it will be better to bring the radio down to test and I will do it this week.

      Million thanks

Ande02, I'm using the same radio and frequency as yours. I have bought Hitec 8 channel (FM) super slim RX with dual-conversion RX crystal from Rotor. To date, my P40 is flying fine and have no problem with distance. Range check can achieved up to 50m with antenna collapsed on TX. Anyway, the best way is to bring your TX down and test on the spot. Hope the info helped. Cheers.

Fullmoon, thanks for the info and didnt know that you are using that. Good info and also already see for myself when you fly yr P40. The last time someone at the shop tell me that Sanwa can only use single conversion and not dual. So confused but thanks for sharing. Cheers
