A Big Thank you to those who registered as members and we would like to welcome all who have recently joined. As the number of new members grow, there will be an issue overcrowding and judging from the first couple of days of official flying sessions this can become a safety issue.
The Executive Committee has just concluded the first meeting for the new year and we all agreed that there has to be some form of traffic control or Air traffic Control management. For the upcoming flying sessions, we will be introducing a "Flying Card" system where members must secure a flying card or lanyard from the designated Air Traffic Controller before they can fly. There will be a limited number of flying cards at every one session at the discretion of the Safety Marshal. No member shall fly their aircraft without a "Green Flying Card" This is to ensure that a safe number of aircraft are flying at any given time. We seek your understanding as safety is our utmost concern.
As all the Executive Committee office holders are volunteers, we have an issue of not having enough man power to manage the flying sessions. Until that is sorted out or if we can get more volunteers from existing members to join the Executive Committee, we are proposing to shorten the flying sessions from 9am -1pm. As much as we would like to extend the flying sessions all the way to 3pm, we need volunteers to perform as Field Safety Marshals.
We are volunteering our time and efforts so that we can have a nice place to enjoy our hobby, so please help to cooperate by obeying the Field Safety Marshals and observe all safety rules. When you are ready to fly, please shout out your intention to Take Off and Land. This is to warn members around you.
We also need to enforce that only registered members are allowed to fly after clearance from the Chief Instructors.
For queries on miscellaneous items like Member Shirts and Parking Labels, please be patient as each of these items are being handled by volunteer members. If you wish to contribute and join as an Executive Committee member, do come and meet us on the field.
Availability of flying sessions for the Lunar New Year period.
To all ACE aeromodelling members, due to the Chinese New Year period, a number key personnel are not available to oversee the operation of the flying sessions . We will only be able to open the field for flying for only tomorrow (Saturday 21st January).
Apologies to our members who don't celebrate Chinese New Year.
Normal flying sessions will resume next week.
Thank you for your understanding and I wish everyone a Great Dragon Year!!
Yeah it was windy. Just seat under the tree enjoyed the fresh air, do some emails and saw the two guys flying the kites.
Do you think is possible for club personnel to leave message at the community club, so Acemodeling members can call to confirm before going to the field?
