Taken by a gd camera, EOS40D.

Wat're ur settings for the panning shot for Danny's heli?

Not a pro but I think the shutter speed is abit too high for the flying scale heli

                        1/60 for Danny's heli .. (taken with 40D & 50-250mm f4)
                        1/8000 second for the scale heli .. LOL (40D & 50mm f1.8)

Its so high that cant see the blade moving

this is actually my first time doing 'sport' shooting with DSLR
                        still alot to learn..

Maybe it is my preference...but I find that for scale flying, that shutter speed is OK.

EDIT: OK... maybe next time use slightly lower shutter speed so that the blades tips has some motion blur effect

                          See this from real heli:

                            Clsoe the aperture more?

                            Hi CKS,

It's good that you took some photos. I was there too but I cycled there so didn't bring a camera.

Just a suggestion. For the Huey shot, I see your aperture was opened up fully at f1.8, which resulted in a very high shutter speed of 1/8000. Perhaps you could close the aperture somewhat (say f5.6 give and take) and see what your shutter speed falls down to. I think 1/few hundredths shutter speed or a little lower even will capture some 'rotor-blur', and a nice side-effect is the depth-of-field will increase, so that the background comes a little more into focus as well. Then it may look a bit more like SuperHornet's Cobra shot.

Just a suggestion only, but I'm no expert either. Thanks for the shots
                            ... It's in the Details... :>

No problem..any constructive comments are welcome
I hope to learn more about sport shooting (r/c flying stuff mostly..lol).

Will see how it turn out with smaller aperture
