AFS National Championship 2007 Pylon Racing Event at PPCC Tuas site

Hi Friends

Potong Pasir R/C flying club will be organizing a practice and registering day for all on 01-07-07 Sunday from 11am to 5pm at potong pasir tuas flying site.

Those who register for the competion will get a free HAWK BAE SYSTEM CAP.

So any one who wants to test the planes and register for the competition can do so on this date.This competition is open to all no membership required.

Competition day will be on the 22 july 2007 sunday and on the 21 july sat will also be a practice and registering day.


Categories of Pylon Racing and Competition Rules


1. Sports Plane Category (Starting time of race – Sunday 9.30am)
Specification of plane:
o All specialized racing planes are to be excluded, e.g. Quickies, Vipers, etc.
o Max. Engine capacity: 0.50 for 2 cycles or 0.75 for 4 cycles.
Engine must be fitted with muffler. The use of tune pipe is not permitted.
o Plane must run off ground to take off. Hand launch is not
permitted.


2. Racing Plane Category (Starting time of race – Sunday 12.30 pm) Specification of plane:
o Max. Engine capacity: 0.50 for 2 cycles or 0.75 for 4 cycle.
o Hand launch below shoulder level is allowed.


3. Open Electric Category (Starting time of race – Sunday 2.00pm)
Specification of plane:
o Open to all fixed wing electric motor driven plane.
o Hand launch below shoulder level is allowed.

I like to congratulate the Officials of Potong Pasir Club for successfully organising their 1st Pylon Race.

There was a slight delay in the beginning but once it got underway it went smoothly, participanrs were well organised, free lunch was excellent ( trust me - if I say it is good it is really good) and more than enough for everyone plus "visitors". Best pylon towers in Singapore, JB and Batam!

At the end of the event, some officials mentioned about 2 classes of Warbird pylon race to be held sometime in October or November. We look forward to a confirmation of the event.
