a wasted trip to fook hai

i recently broke my tahmazo GB300 drive shaft while trying to maiden my gws zero. so i emailed SHS knowing that it is best to check if they do carry a replacement. The great news came back in about 2 days, they have it and i cost $2.40. i dont usually have time to go to fook hai as it is not along any of my route to anywhere, but today i took the day off to do some shopping and get my bird up soon.

when i got there to ask for it, they told me that they don't have it and only have for GB200. So disappointing!!! What is the point of me sending the email to clarify? I basically wasted my trip there(although a trip to fook hai can never be wasted! i bought other things i need!), this is simply not the way to do business.

i think most likely the fellow for replied my email didnt bother to check and just assumed i was asking for that item. DARN! they should give me a free shaft when the stock comes!!!! (train ride to and fro is already more than $2.40).

been ages since i went FH. havent been to any hobby shop until last sat at rotor. all out of the way.

Haha.. typical. I went so many times when I needed parts urgently and they told me don't have the part, need to wait 2 weeks. 2 weeks later.. went back.. still no part.. 2 weeks later will come.. 2 weeks later.. still no part..

When a buddy of mine was there to look for the same part the next day, there it was in their cabinet. My friend asked if the part just came.. they said no.. no new parts have been coming in.

Dunno how many trips i made from boon lay to fook hai for nuttin already...

But it guess they can afford to do biz this way.. still lots of ppl buying from them.. i still can't help but buy from them sometimes also. They carry a good range..

so how? bo bian lor.. my wasted time doesn't cost them a single cent.

Explain why I do not like to go SHS. When ever you step into that shop, unless you buy something otherwise they treat you like nobody. I think they are just Champion No. 2

Just to share with you guys my bad encounter with this shop.
After that incident, I told myself i will never step into this shop anymore.
It all happened last year, I brought a mirco receiver (Futaba) which later found out from Futaba agent that infact they did even produce such a receiver. ( wonder where they got it from?? )
I asked the lady to test to see if its working. (if i am buying any electronics stuffs, i always test on the spot.)
Well, She told me that all their products sold there are new and in woking condition, as she does not have any futaba set to test wit. well, wat can i say, Pay and go..
Anyway, when i got home, tested it and found out that its not working.
i rushed down to that shop the same afternoon, with the receipt hoping that she will change another receiver for me, instead she said that i am the one who damaged it.. and refused to change one for me. tell me to leave the stuff there for repair which claim that will take about a month..
Inside my heart, I was thinking thats not the way to do buiness
If your product is faulty, dont try to sell it by telling other she has no equipment to test it and refused to replace me with a new set when i found out its not working .
Infact, this is the first time that i ever encounter with such an unreasonable sale lady that keep saying that its my fault..
End of the day, when i told her that I will report this incident to CASE they finally digged out and replace me with a new set..
Yes, no doubt that they are carrying some stuffs that other LHS dont. but the prices are not cheap too..
Anyway, Just to make thing clear to you guys, I got nothing against this shop , i Hope that you guys test the stuff before perchase them coz i dont wish you guys ended like wat had happened to me..

u might want to know they also supply items to other LHS since the are the sole distributor for some very popular brands.

Yah, they are a major importer. So they are the big shot. Unless more people take the time to document their wrong doing and report it, years later we'll still be getting lousy service and bad treatment. Thing is, we've wasted enough time by making useless trips there already. So spending more time and money to document and report their behaviour is a further waste.

haiz...seems like this is another ah beng business going on. i better find an alternative for my gear shaft. anyways, i always find JH a lot better with what they carry. Cheap and Good. always friendly service. even when i bought small things and i still get discount without asking.

Shocking for me to hear about fook hai.But i do agree that if u do not intend to buy anything,they treat you like nobody and ignore you. But what to do.Just ignore. And once you get your stuffs,bye..bye

my so called experience was i was indecisive and the guy told me to think hard since its not a cheap hobby , i better decide and not take drastic action. he advised me on the SS first ( though at that time i already had one) and even gave the name card of the shop in case i want to return and ask more questions

since i am probably not getting my shaft replancement anytime soon. i liked to find other alternatives.

the tahmazo gearbox uses the same method of gear locking as the himaxx gears. the tahmazo shaft has a little section cut flat for the screw to lock in.

anyone knows if the himaxx gearbox has the same shaft?

Yes, Himax shafts and motors(2025) has tat flat portion for the grub screw to grab on.
