Is there any good LHS here?

    Hi,

I have visited some LHS here but have not find a good LHS in term of price and service.
Some have high prices, others have poor services, another have irregular business hours,
some simply not interested to sell you anything, a few have no knowledge of what they are selling,
certain shops are not keen to talk, some have no space for you to even walk around, some have
mountain of dead stocks, one that is so stuck up, etc.

I am not looking for cheapest prices. Just a honest, reliable and friendly LHS with reasonable prices.
Am I asking for too much? Am I suppose to give up LHS and go for online shops?

In term of price, they are not the cheapest. However, some LHS have good services.

If buy online, some shipping cost are not cheap. So, depends on what u looking for & what's your expectation of good services.

I do a mix of local purchase & online purchase.
After so many years, I am still a beginner

        ......

I will say one shop has good knowledge, the other has relatively cheaper price and one is friendly. If you ask me which LHS has all the above, I will say "NONE". My personal opinion.

Actually to me, price is not most important. I don't mind if the price is about 10% higher than online shops.
What I am looking for are product knowledge and consistent service. That is when I need to buy the
products/parts I can just go to the shop at their usual business hours and can expect the shop to be
open without checking, calling or sms. And when I ask questions about the products they are selling I can
            expect reasonable answers.

Some shops product knowledge are not bad. But, even the shop with best product knowledge is getting worse
nowadays. Last time, when I asked the shop owner product questions he can answered me 90% of my questions,
but now it is only 60% at best. Service attitude also dropping.

There are 3 OMO shops. One will open at around 12noon everyday, never late and never disappear during
business hours but products and product knowledge are limited. One you will never know what time he is
going to open the shop. It can be 1 to 2 hours late, or close for the day. So, you need to call.
The other one, will open on time but often disappear from his shop during business hours.

I guess buying from online shops are more pleasant. At least I feel that they treasure my business more
than our LHS. Why like that.

You have yet to get "lemon" product from online shop... then the exchange or refund process can be very complex and incur cost. If it's a cheap item, sometimes its better to just discard and put it down to bad luck.

I know which ones you're talking about...

These dead stocks may have been expensive items..... 5 years or more ago!! Now more like museum pieces - but wait, maybe the shops thinking that if they wait longer, the prices will actually go up again, due to vintage value

Seriously, makes me wonder why these shops don't just offer clearance bargain prices, sell these old stocks off and cut their losses? Maybe waiting for some unwary newbie step in and buy??

                  ha...haha...hahaha..hahahahahaha..hahahahahahahaha ha............
                  you make my day.

i guess you are right, the value will go up alright, not 5 years, but at least 30 years. by then it will be real "gu dong".
may be we should buy some of these dead stocks and keep for 30 years, we could be millionaires in 30 years time.
                  hahahahahaha.....sorry, i can't stop laughing...stomach ache liao.

                    Opening Hours

Some of the shops do not adhere to their stated opening hours. If you like to visit them during lunch time as they claim to open at 12pm, you may be in for a surprise. Or maybe I'm just unlucky?

I agree with you guys on the LHS at a certain location . But to me , the JH shop so far i have not find any fault with it except for the prices which could be steeper then those online shop but that can be expected as if you find anything wrong with your purchase from them , they will have it replace foc on the spot if they have stock . Which i experience before . And they usually hold a yr end sale to clear almost all their stock . As to punctuality , i have not seen the shop closed during their opening hrs unlike some other shops that was mentioned here and also experienced by me .

As for knowledge , so far they have not disappoint me in their knowledge as they tell you what they know and nothing else . Esp the owner himself whom answer many of my question ( during my seperate visits ) and i have never found any problems with it . Only thing is they specialise in planes and not heli . My fav thing abt this shop is you are free to walk ard without someone bothering you or even " tailgating " you .
