New member signing up - email address

Firstly, thank you very much for members who had supported this forum. It cannot be so successful without the great contribution from you guys.

Nevertheless as the forum grow, we tend to have immature black sheep creating problem and being a nusiance.

One way to curb this problem will be restricting registration to only email address fr ISP. Hotmail, gmail, yahoo etc will not be allowed.

I see this implementation gonna make things a little more difficult for ppl interested and w/o a email fr ISP. But for the interest of each and everyone here, this seems to be the only way out.

I wasnt too familiar w starhub, as long as it is not free as in everyone can sign up, I think it is acceptable

How about via recommendation, i.e. some existing user must be the sponsor and hold him responsible for the new comer's action for n months?

Yeah for those w/o ISP maybe need some referal / verification b4 they can use non ISP email

this might be quite hard....99% of the ppl i know don't have non-isp email adds.. the only person having it being my brother who doesn't use it at all...

no, i mean starhub do not provide their subscribers with free isp email account. their subscribers have to pay extra to get a starhub email account i think.

may be encourage people to use the report bad post function

Why not use handphone number and verify by sending activation code thru SMS. Just like what DBS does when nominating a third party for fund transfer.

The problem w this ppl is that they always tot no one know who they are when the resume another nick using another hotmail / gmail acc and start creating prob and post rubbish.

The admin panel allow adminstrator to indentify such duplication.

All along they are able to differentiate which nick are from the same source, just that I nv want to make known

Some members may be using company issued email addresses, shouldnt keep them out.

But I think civic3106 has mentioned a great idea.
