Looking for Motorola two way radio

Anyone know where to get the Motorola XTNi or RD model in Singapore? I only need a pair. Any shops to recommend? Or anyone had these model care to comment? My second option is to get the License type.

    Regards

Not for family usage. To be used in a Data Centre. Must able to used within 6 levels of foors and in Electrical switch board room. Hence was looking at those XTNI or RD walkie(no license) for better transmission or 1W type. All else fail than source for license type. Need to have some costing.

The FRS... or in Singapore, it is called PMR446. That system/format, do not required license.

I have Motorola TLKR T7. It is a PMR446 format and box rated 10km. Yeah...10km is bullshit. Anyway, it is 500mW transmission...which is the maximum allowable wattage for PMR446. I sometime use it in work area whereby I at 3floor server room, colleague of mind is in 5floor and still can receive it.

I cannot guarantee whether it work or not on your case not not, but if u interested in TLKR T7, it is available in Harvey Norman, Homefix and Sim Lim Tower as well. It is SGD168.

EDIT: One box of TLKR T7 is SGD168. It comes with 1 pair of two way radio and it also come with the base charger. I think it is NiMH..but u can also use AA batteries. Oh.. it is also available in Challenger

I have a PMR446 walkie (personel) yes it works but the sound quality not so good. Mine is the older model T5603. But looking at the usage, the item need to last for 3years before it can be replaced else need to repair. PMR446 is off the shelf purchase where got company repair if spoilt. Was looking at the TLKR T7 too, but site says discontinued item. Next would be the TLKR T8, cant find in shop. Was hoping to get info on the XTNI and RD.

Saw your thread too on the TLKR T7. Hopefully can get the better type for rough handling. Else all fail then go down SLT to check around the Walkie there. Was thinking can get some info and costing before going down. I went google and saw that some walkie is also in the range of 446MHZ so wondering if those are license free. I'm open to option and if really that hard to find then I'll get the TLKR T7.

You can get 5W single or dual band handheld walkie talkies that will surely work in your environment. Prices range from $160-190 per set. They are digital so you can set your channel in either VHF or UHF. They will work with FRS radios too if you know their frequencies.

Bring a friend who has a foreign passport and you can get these radios in Sim Lim Tower/Square. If u are going to use the radios purely indoor it should be OK.

The walkie has to be legal lah. Dun want to get into trouble. If really required to get the license for just 1 pair just pay lor. Its to meet the requirement of 6 floors communication and with many walls around.

              Thanks SH and BullTerrier.

              Cheers
