HD undetectable

Hi All, any expert here to tell why this happen to my work pc HD?? HD cannot be detect by bios. tried on few pc liao. HD only months old Seagate barracuda 500GB.

Sent for data recovery, been quoted this:

The hard drive's head is in a stiction (static) mode. It is unstable and misaligned causing sector error readings. The MFT structures on the P-List and G-List are severely corrupted. The translator module is corrupted due to the format and needs to be reprogrammed for any data structures to be salvageable.

Any cheap and good solution?? DIY??

I thought you're refering to your computer's ability to play back HD movie !!!
...then realised you mean Hard Disk Drive ...Bro, it HDD !

Send the HDD for warranty exchange !

Send back to seagate? will they recover back my data under the warranty?

Go to Seagate website and download their Diagnostic software and check the HDD. It could be the voice coil alignment is out.

If BIOS unable to detect the harddisk, means possible the electronics cct board is bad. If to send in for data recovery, my last done for my boss cost him S$3.6k from ADRC at Science park.
