there seems to be no error msges,
the problem is, when i play and create a custom game online
my friends, which is beside me, cannot find the custom game's name,
that i guss must the the error,
i turned off firewall, from the control panel,
and that is what everyone tell me to do, turn off the firewall,
maybe there is another place to turn it off, or more than one firewalls?
well i hope my reply is not too vague, that seems to be all i know i guess.
      thanks for looking...

You've to set ur router to allow access to program.

The other important key is to switch on the option which allows the computer to adopt ur router's IP as it's own IP address and not from the NAT..... There's that option... search through it under ur router firewall.

ok, am not very good at this, but where do i do all these settings? i mean where do i access them? is it on the router itself? or is it on the pc?

are both of your PCs connected to the same linksys device?

If so, that means you are trying to setup a LAN game.

If I remember correctly, WC3 only support IPX/SPX for LAN game.

Therefore, you will need to ensure that both PCs have IPX/SPX protocol installed.

instalation method for different OS (Win98, WinME, Win2k, WinXP) is slightly different though.....which OS are u using?

                  using xp on both.
no, they are differnt starhub accounts, but both have linksys routers,
do i still need the spx protocol installed?
this is not really a lan game, am trying to play internet games, i can do the quick play with other players, just cant host the games..

oh this is wat i did to my comp to play on lan
                    follow this

control panel-network and internet connections-set up or change your home or small office network

                    then follow the instructions.

you will need to do this on both computers.after that u should be able to play on lan.make sure u sellect the options correctly too
