Where are those free wireless surfing hotspot in Singapore?

Just enquire a laptop recently. As most of the time am on the move, it will be nice to be able to hook up the net as and when require. I am currently with PacNet broadband and tempted to switch to singnet for they offer unlimited outdoor surfing for an additonal $10.40 per month

If you know of places that can surf for free, please update here

    1)Funan Center
    2)
    3)

    Thanks

    Mike

Got to type NPNet as ur wireless network name (ssid). then select tools, internet options, connections, lan settings, and key in this in the address field: http://cache.np.edu.sg/proxy.pac
check both "automatically detect settings" and "use automatic configuration script" boxes
and u r ready to surf

Free Access? Usually below HDB Block, lots of unsecure AP.

                        What about Burger King?

Informatics Campus also wireless throughout BUT it is encrypted. That means if u do not have encryption key, u cannot use it. U can scan the SSID but no correct key will not able to access it. I think a lot of school/poly/university are like that.

Turn on your lap top.. scan what is available in the air...

90% of the time you can find someone who never secure their wireless network....
                          huh

LEt me say a few things first:

NUS network is not free.... without student ID and password cannot get through... even if u can procure some ID u still need to download their own connection programs to gain access.. to download u need to enter using another set of student credentials...

What I can say is that in Wireless location like in Campus/school/Institute, it is normally encrypted in such a way u require encryption key (64Bits or 128Bits) or u need user name and password in order to access it. If u manage to get unsecured signal in some office or near HDB area, changes is that the person who configure it do not know how to secure it.
