Subaru WRX need info

Hi people,

I need some info on running in the engine. I did a search and found there are 2 method, soft run-in and hard run-in.

Which is better and why ??

I prefer hard run-in. Cos during transportation many ppl has helped u ran in the ride already. Within less than 2k on the Odo, I already whack 5k rpm.

i have chosen hard run in as well. 500km redline every gear top speed in excess of 240 ( not in sg roads)

What oil do you all use when doing your hard run-in?

0-1K : mineral oil (factory oil)
1-5K : semi-syn oil (10W40)
5-10K : full syn oil (10W30)
10-20K : full syn oil (10W30)


Driving only NA cars. Just wack lah. Drive normally will do. No need to be extra KS. We are in the Yr2000s already. Engine has develop a lot since Henry Ford cranking it up manually.

Doubt if Mitsu would stand still and do nothing ! ...would be interesting to see how the new Evo 11 stack up !
