I had a first hand view of the belly landing incident back in November when I was still training in Sunshine Coast. Luckily the aircraft I was in landed before he did. The other learjet behind the Hunter had to divert to Rockhampton as a result of the belly landing. Fortunately he had the external fuel tanks fitted on which I believed took most of the damage during the landing. Seeing it skidding on the runway with the subsequent plume of dust as it came to a stop way beyond the runway left my heart aching.
