home made glow fuel?

can any one tell me anything about making there own glow fuel?
has anyone tried here in singapore?

someone did it before. But I guess you have to go to the field to meet them. Try the punggol flying field.(the one nearer to the sea)

When I first nkew Jazallo...he was flying home brews...$30/gallon....

Methanol and castor oil is easy to mix....but the mix has 0% nitro though...and castor will cause quite a bad stain on the heli....

I'd rather pay $9 more to get CP20%

Where can you buy Castor Oil here in Singapore? I've tried mixing glow fuel before but its difficult to get pure nitromethane here. It is locally available but expensive. One liter cost SG$150 .

nope,it was $15.00 per gallon with 15% nitro.

however, the brew was inconsistent,too much castor sometimes.
smells good when flying. a pain in the ^$# to remove stains from muffler.

have since switch to CP now. and is the only fuel i would recommend to anybody in S'pore. .

im on big time budget when it comes to to fuel...
mind sharing what castor oil( and were to get it from) also were can you get methanol here?

HI there...just curious.Some nitros when bought come in clear colour...What happens if we just add in a 2-4 drops of colour ink into them so as to create some colouring in the fuel..will these have any effects on the fuel?Sorry if this question seems .

there are commercially available fuel dye. I think a few drop of food colouring will also work. Add a drop at a time.
