Battery Placement: Should it be under the frame or above the frame

    Hi,

I have seen a lot of configuration for quads and I am just wondering how the placement of the battery affects the performance/stability of the multis.

Some put it above the frame.. some below.. and some at the back.. Anyone of you already experimented this? What's your view?

    Here is my thought:
If your craft is small (like mini quadcopter 250):
if your craft is only 1 layer, then either controller on top and battery on the bottom or vice verses (because no place to put). But putting controller on top allow u to easily tune/tweak your controller settings.
Putting electronics on top also has the advantages whereby when u have to make a quick landing on a muddy area, it is your battery that get wet and not your electronics.
Putting battery on the bottom (if battery is heavy), I believe will provide better stability during tight turning (or aileron turning). If battery on top, then it is like top heavy and during turning (like 45degree angle), your weight of the battery will tend to tilt your craft even more.

Those are my point of view (me no expert in multicopter).
