    Battery life

Ok, question. Doesn't a smaller batt equate to usually a shorter flight?

    I had a 2800mah 3s1p 30c which flies for 6 mins(230g batt weight)
    I recently bought a 2600mah 3s1p 35c and it now flies for 7 mins(205g batt weight)

It even draws less amps. Could be the weight but surely 25g doesn't make a difference on a 900g craft(without batt) right?

Are they the same branded batteries? Same series of that brand? How many flights has the first batt clocked over the second? The thing about lipos is their ability to NOT hold their charge very well, especially the ones from hk you'll end up feeding more power to a motor esc combo for the same style of flight.

Attach a camera to your tx and monitor your stick inouts with 2 different batteries with the same flight profile.

Its a weird balance of weight to capacity.

Its the new batt old batt thing. And the old batt is heavier... kinda adding problems to everything. i bet if you had a brand new 2800 batt of the same specs, you'll probably get 7.5mins of flight time

Ahh, that makes sense now....... but I'm still puzzled as to how a 25g difference will affect flight time of a 1.1kg+ quad so much. Just seems like abit crazy. And 50 cycles considered aged alr? I thought they are supposed to last about 200 cycles

i would normally give it about 50 cycles for the lower priced lipos. If youre looking for 200 cycles, then go for something like thunderpower =)

Not really aged actually... but sufficient cycles to see a difference in power between a new lipo and an old lipo

Adding to that, some manufacturers actually understate their packs. For example they will put a 2200mah label on a 2450mah pack, cos 2200 is more 'sellable' for stock clearance purposes.

I suggest recording the battery voltage once you land. Compare this with the mah charged back by the charger and you will have a better idea on the condition of the battery. If your charger have internal resistance measurement, even better.

Eh thunder power ex leh...... And not all chargers have a tp balance port. Hx balance port easier to find.

Elmo: so meaning my 2600 could well be a 2800 as well or even a 3000mah? So far I'm landing with 11.3-11.35 and the IR is 11,6,7 for the old pack and 11,5,6 for the new. All in miliohm
