      Typically any FC has Y4 mixer will support that config.

      Mike Barton also just released to me the latest XXConroller 1.6i now added the V Tail mixer option. The code will run on KK Plus with MEMS module only.

      The 1.6i will be loaded to the downlaod section here

        Yup both MWC and KK works well on this altho MWC has VTAIL mixing. This iwhat I like where it flies like a plane yaw. My board is OpenPilot with custom mix.

        Multiwii configuration section

        Code:
        /* The type of multicopter */
        [COLOR="Red"]#define Y4[/COLOR]
        [COLOR="Red"]#define VTAIL4[/COLOR]
        The 2 modes use the same motor mixing:
        - PITCH : reduce front motors and increase rear motor
        - ROLL : rear motors don't change and the roll is only did by the front motors

        The difference is on the mixing of motors for YAW
        - On Y4 mode : For YAW, only rear motors are use. This configuration is the configuration I used on the videos. This mode is the generic mod and can be use for FPV or accro
        - On VTAIL4 mode : The YAW is less powered and it is assist by a small ROLL so you can make smoother turns. This mode is really good for FPV
        Got slight better result but there are still small pulsing because of flashed ESC. Hope to take video but I will be out of SG

        Note: Someon on RCG say flash ESC can be used without issues, I think MWC board but some tuning and filter required.

          Quick test, the best I could do on Flashed FW but still small oscillation and pulsing but I think normal ESC will do great with KK and MWC board.

          Thanks to wireframan for the graupner blades

                I think you completely missed the point of having different board. Either that or I did not understand what you are trying to say. Imagine multi last time only DraganFlyer and MK was the only options. Only a handful of guys can afford it and enjoy the hobby. I can only afford helis that time.

                Anyway, this boards, MWC, KK, OP CC and Arducopter are Open Source which means being developed continuously and may or may not be 100% "bullet proof". Oh and its complete BS if one say this is the "best board" in my opinion. It is a subjective topic. All board have different behavior and depends on the preference of the user and intention of use. The next step is skill, as you progress into the hobby your taste and liking will change. I am definitely a newbie on this multi compared to Daniel and Ivan as I think they are mostly and wildly knowledgeable on this field of RC but as all forum to share your knowledge is the best think to do. Lets know forget the MK experts like haidee this guys may not update the forum that much as they have other important things to work but they are really helpful and willing to assist not just sell off products.

                Ok sorry for the novel. lets get back into the topic and stop OT.

                Suggestion from RCG is to try different prop size, too bad I have to wait for 2weeks to try it out.

                  The V-tail idea is very interesting, here's my latest modified build based around the Naza in quadX4.
                  I hope to bring it along on Wed for its 1st night flight (providing its not raining)

                    Cool concept...why not make it a full blown vtail? this is almost the same as the original prototype of vtail. What board are you planning to run on this frame?

                      I tried it as a full V-tail but the Naza doesn't have a Y4 / V-tail config
                      The thing nearly flew into the wall when I started to lift-off (bad yaw control) so I had to revert back to a quad X4 config.

                      because the two back motors are physically higher than the two front motors the yaw action is still a bit twitchy.

                      I have adjusted the gains to get it reasonably stable but want to see how it fly's in an open space.

                      if it still can't settle I might change back to the full V-tail set-up and go for the new multiwii with care-free flying & baro set-up

                        Yup Naza dont have the mixing, DJI only have it on Wookong. Yup multiwii can support it but I think the carefree mode will be less of use on Vtail...but for quad looks crazy. Sadly I have not had much success and had less time tuning it. Got so many multi to work on lol.

                          put in a KK Plus with MEMS Gyro... bingo

                          still less than $100!

                          Maybe for our very first member here to try on the vtail, I am prepare to support it with a sample price

                            Hmmmmmm do I get good price? I've been meaning to test your board but havent had the chance yet. Maybe if very tempting price I might get and try...but sadly I will be out for 2 weeks

                            Trev, this is a nice offer from Daniel maybe you can hook up with him. My ESCs come from him very nice guy and easy to transact. Specially both of you are in East. He got nice LEDs too

                            Daniel, if offers still stand and provided your MEMs will not be out of stock by the time I reach back SG. I will take on your offer. If that was intended for me hehehe. I bet Edwin will be next and he will be flipping with it by the time I get back
