vuzix, intersting way to mount the camera...this put new meaning to direct mount..But in my humble opinion this might not be the best way to do it. It will be prone to the servo jitter/hunting (notice the sudden bobbing of the video) and not really stable (might make the camera shake at higher frequency vibrations).

PS: Happy to see bonding with your kid. Oh and next time he will be in front with the controller while you are watching at the back begging for your turn

I still have acouple of them now that rated at 30A

    sunday morning flight

I've fitted a pitch servo on the camera which does help stabilize the video during forward / backward flight.

The auto-focus seems to have a bit of a problem with the low-light conditions and there is still some high frequency vibrations to sort out but overall I think its good for a micro DV camera casually mounted on the front of the F450 frame. After all, it is only for a bit of fun as I'm flying about

I've just invested in a nice prop balancer

Hopefully this will stabilize my F450 enough to smooth out the vibration & wobble I was getting on my 1st attempt at aerial video.

Vuzix, I hope I did not raise your hopes up but my maiden test flight seems to be full of vibration too more on high-end freq tho maybe next time I will just hard mount it haha. I will really try to bring it but can promise cause I dont drive remember and dont know how to bring it to church hahaha...

Here is the vid, sorry a bit dim indoors

Hi Truck, thank you very much for your kind encouragement, my pilot skills are still very novice, only hover and slowly drift here & there.

Please try to bring your F450, I really like to see how you mount the camera. I tried a couple of flights with a digital cam zip-tied on my F450 but the video has bad vibration. I've balanced the props but I think I need to try some type of damping on a proper camera mount.

I'll bring my latest build for its 1st official outing

    early morning flight

Just had a very early morning flight today to try out the new lights configuration on the F450.

And especially for Truck, I tried the fail-safe on the Naza, it seemed to go straight into auto-land mode not hover-hold.

See you guys at the Kallang FF this afternoon, I'm bringing my latest quad build to try out
