    Avatar Dragon C21 quad project

    Here's a photo of the basic air-frame.

I used a Gaui 330XS, a carbon-fibre sheet as the central floor-pan along with 4 sets of Lego wheels for the landing gear.

600g (frame) + 150g (2s 2600 batt) = 750g flying weight, it does hold a stable hover on about 50% power but I think I need to try a 3s batt once I add the weight of the body shell.

Now all I have to do is make the body shell

the body shell is slowly taking shape.

I've made the basic central fuselage and have fitted the front two propeller covers.

I'll post more updates as the construction progresses.

the test flight was a bit unstable due to the body shell shaking against the air-frame and making the whole craft difficult to control.

Decided to permanently fit a striped down air-frame into the body shell. This helped to reduce the overall flying weight by approx 150g.

Now it flies reasonable well, a bit more fine-tuning and it should be ready for painting.

thank you for the video, I saw another video by the same guy, he has amazing modeling skills, this is what gave me the idea to try to make my quad look like the C21.

My modeling skills aren't that good so my quad is more of a "look-a-like" rather than a scale replica. I couldn't find any 3 blade counter-rotate 7" props so I've had to use the existing 2 blade 8" props which makes the prop covers larger than they should be for the body size which distorts the scaling. I'm not that worried, as long as it looks like the C21 I'm happy with it

I've had another test flight this morning and I think its ready for the paint job.

I'll try to make a video once its painted
