    HB, HBT & HB 2??

juz wondering watz their difference... All i know tat HBT & HB are FP heli and HB 2 is CCPM heli tat can do simple 3D... but how high (max height) can each diff model heli realli fly? i wanna to know...

Pretty high actually. I've had my HB FP indoor model go up to about 40ft or more when flying outside in a little wind. I don't think you will want to base your decision on how high the helis will go, rather on how well you can control them and how stable they are for your flying style.

Wow, how did you get 40'? I always get 2-3m at most (controlled flight under no wind conditions).

I don't fly HB T in the open, at most under void decks. Yes, when the wind comes it'll do wonders (lift your heli up several metres high) but can also cause great damages by crashing it.

With stock batteries, expect about 2-3m. Perhaps with lipo batt you can fly higher.

I agree with Daniel that you should consider flight stability and spares cost as a beginner.

any heli can go any height. remember by using physics ah just calculate ur acceleration upwards by F=ma, so as long chopper genrating lift, it can go as high as u can control it. usually it is the pilot that limits tht plane, not the other way round
Man are not supposed to fly
            Pilots do
            But aren't pilots man
            Dun ask me, ask OCBC
            Lame....

              Hey curryboi,

What plane/heli are you flying? Care to share?

I see, what heli model are you flying now?

BTW, I am self-studying in helicopter aerodynamics. It is NOT as simple as F=ma.

Rotor has to generate at least three main forces:
1.) vertical lifting force (thrust) in opp. to aircraft weight
2.) horizontal propulation force for forward flight
3.) forces and moments to control altitude and position of helicopter.

A lot of fluid mechanics involved. I'm going through slowly.

For fixed pitch heli, height will depend on rotational speed of rotor, which is in turn determined by main motor (efficiency, torque and speed) and battery power supply. Not every heli can fly to any height as desired, hence difference in flying capabilities of different models.

wa piang how u locate me to here lol
lol paiseh i forgot that the thing i said i think only applied to ccpm =D
the blades have to generate more N than weight to fly and two forces will generate it. first got the angle of attack. higher more force, thats y ccpm more shiok. then got the newton law that say if got one force going let say forward, a counteracting force will aso be generated, thus generating the lift. forward flight is depend on swashplate i think.
and yeah i m flying hbt.... but its a beginner heli ma.... so perfect for me =D
mebbe next year i upgrade to zap lo... and aso arty y nv see u at the meet???
