Using 5A ubec on a 450 size heli

Can I use an ext 5A ubec on a 450 size fbl heli? Will there be any issues like over current and burnt the electronics?

Don't see why not. You can use a 300A Turnigy Fatboy ESC on a 450 heli as well, no issues. Only issue would be the heavier weight. As such using a 5A UBEC wouldn't be an issue.

You are using separate battery for the BEC?
Your esc has no power supply for the rx?
What's the weight for the heli after installing the BEC?
          I love PAP

            Hi Hallobaby,
I'm not using separate batt for the ubec, I solder the input of the ubec to the batt connector of the esc using only one batt to power both esc & bec. I use ext bec is because I've more electronics used on my heli, built in bec on the esc might not hv enough current to supply them under heavy load. Currently still waiting for my 5A bec to arrive. Weight wise should not be very heavy as no extra batt used.

I've been using a separate on my 450sizer wzout any prob. I used it coz d bec on my hobbywing esc failed/faulty. I soldered a balancer tab at d input end of d bec. Power up d electronics by connecting d bec to d balancer tab of d lipo. IMO, easier den soldering d inputs to d batt connectors. Jus remember to remove d red wire from d esc connector.

Remove the red wire from the ESC plug when you use external BEC.
