FMS Flight Simulator Compliance Rectifications to Vista & Windows 7.
I came across the Rotor website sometime back & wish perhaps to repost this for people who can't afford the Phoenix as simulator. FMS use to have problems running in Windows 7 or Vista due to the shading 3D problems. Therefore, the underlying solution is as laid out below as in Rotor Simulator Added advise...(I've uploaded the renamed into zip link)

Windows Vista / Windows 7
SOFTWARE INCLUDED IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS VISTA MACHINE. HOWEVER, ACCORDING TO SEVERAL FMS FORUMS, BELOW INFORMATION MAY BE OF HELP TO YOU. PLEASE USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK! WE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSE TO YOUR COMPUTER!
You will have to copy a file called D3DRM.dll and paste it to your Vista (c:\windows\system32 directory or c:\windows\system32\FMS directory).
(Additional step for Windows 7 users)
Next, download fms-ecomport-fix.reg to your computer and double click on it to install it. - U can find my attached renamed zip in site:
Please note that before you do this, enable the System Restore so that if any unusual thing happened to your Vista machine, you can revert it back to good working condition.
Please disable/uncheck the Texture setting (From FMS program Menu > Go to Graphics > Textures) to stop screen from flickering.
ADD Models:
If you like to add more models in the simulator program, you can search for additional models online or download it and un-zip it and place in the ....../Fms/Model folder will do.
