    Quanum 2.4Ghz Telemetry System V2

    Hello guys

I came across this and realised that there's hardly anybody using it locally (at least through searches on the web).

    Quanum 2.4Ghz Telemetry System V2
[i can't post the url but you can find it under telemetry]

Anyone's got experience with it and care to share?

I'm wondering if there's something really bad about it or something since hardly anyone here uses it. Reviews for the V2 are pretty decent overseas. Do let me know before i waste US$50! Haha..

Or is there something else you guys are using for stand-alone telemetry systems?

Another concern is on mounting it on a Futaba. I'm using a 10CG 2.4Ghz and the mounting brackets that come with it wouldn't fit without some modifications for sure.

    Thanks lots!

Just from my humble observation of SG people in general, it that the majority of us wont take much risk..thats probably why we are so high on warrenty and insurance..

So probably why people dont use it here is cause the shops not selling so no support so people probably thinking unless its dirt cheap if not then just safer to buy from a shop or buy something that people recommending already withoutproblems..

Hope this helps althought now that i look at what i typed again its a bunch of crap..

lazy to delete, just take it as a free bump haha

Yes, it is good & accurate.

I've been using that last time 2 years ago. Quantum 2.4Ghz Telemetry V2. It uses a small thin 2.4Ghz transmitter than you can attached to your batt white connector for power. Binding with a remote greyscale screen which can be attached onto the transmitter, it reports remotely full strength record of the batt every cells all at the same time.

With additional sensor module, you can attached to the thin transmitter end to report the Temperature & Current separately. Tells u exactly where you left off before u initiate the landing.

The reason why seldom it is used as nowadays all these are implemented into telemetry transmitters like Spectrum / Hitec models where the receivers mounted are also IC implemented telemetries. Of course, if you're to weight in terms of price, it would be better to get this Quantum 2.4ghz V2 Telemetry.

Price matters to the suppliers business indeed..

I had to agree with Xuen7 to some point. If the price is to a minimal point and profit margin is so slim that you've to addup the freight, many LHS won't be stocking in their favor. Too high a price can kills a product movement too. Lack of support does ends the production line in a good product too.

The web stores doesn't have to foot a hefty shop rental bill with their worker's salaries in S'pore bearing in mind it is a nitch market despite internationally aware. So it is an advantage to their point that they can maintained near factory pricing unless our LHS has exclusive dealership pricing to maintain.

Btw, Quantum Telemetry V2 is a Thumbs Up!!!

thanks for all the feedback guys..

i'm a sucker for gadgets and since futaba doesn't have telemetry systems built in (i heard its on the way but you'd never know) i've been scouting for stand-alone telemetry systems.

now i just need to find out how to mount it to my transmitter.. haha..

would all the kind souls please post pictures of how you mount it on your transmitter? especially futabas.. thanks!

I have been using it for a yr plus already. Not using it on my heli cos I prefer to keep my eyes on the heli rather than the telementry. I rather use my tx timer to remind me its time's up.

I use it in my boats to indicate to me when to ease off and come back to shore. It works, now I dont have to guess how much left in my batt. Its really fun, u squeeze the throttle, u can see in real time the voltages of individual cell drops and the mah climbing up.

                Great product to have.

Agreed not so useful for helis

                    thanks for the feedback adrian

i'd agree its not going to be as useful for my heli as well but i'd like to have warning beeps based on actual usage rather than the tx timer..

we'll see how that goes.. eitherway, i think it'll be good as a diagnostic tool and an anti cock-up plan when i fit my scale fuse on. not to mention that it'll be useful when i go back to flying planes as well. =)

I'm using Hitec Aurora 9...and it already comes with the telemetry (battery voltage indicator) build in. I use telemetry to tell me the voltage in the beeping sound. (It do have voltage readback display but I seldom look at it while flying)

                      So, I will have:
                      1. Timer alarm...which i normally ignore it anyway due to it is not the actual alarm
                      2. Short beeps when actual voltage is closed to the voltage alarm setting (like I set 11.1volt for 3S)
                      3. Constantly beeping when actual voltage at the voltage alarm setting or lower.

Telemetry radio will only interest me if it can tell me when will be my next crash.

                        enjoy.
