Hornet 2 "IFFJ" Finally fully assembled.

I suppose i now hold the record for slowest hornet build here.... 4 weeks........

Many thanks to Fit [ called back from Belgium to check on my progress] , Doug [ for the PHX Link], Johnny[for the consistent pushing and help], and Ah Tat from hobbyshack for hammering my tail so hard i decided to fix everything on my own from then. [ he also answered my 101 hornet questions ]

    I call it I.F.F.J.

    Alias "The White Ghost"

aye, good name mate! it just needs more white over the black, and shades of grey to complete the colour scheme.

damn i wish i had that name first.

Wah......I love those blades........Hmmm..... can I suggest those micro deans to be used? They are made for the purpose of minimise power/current loss compare to other connector

          But SenSei-Mike,
Me no good ata soldering. Gold pins need shrink wrappa! Student will follow Sensei advice.

This is a silly question i think.... . I dunno who can help. Let's say i switch to the bullet and pin connectors mack provided [ yes it is provided for with his batts, these solid gold connectors that are big and long! ] then only the parts to connect are exposed? The rest of the connector must be insulated right?

heh heh, Derrick how much are the micro deans?

One cup of Tea/kopi/beer to the guy who can guess what "I.F.F.J." means.... PM the answer........heh heh

actually the big JST aren't bad they're pretty ok and cost less than the deans.

not that the deans are too expensive , 2.55 sgd a pair just that you have to order so sometimes you run out of connectors heh.

I just received a few ray so if you want you could get a few pairs from me.

For me i'm using a mix of micro deans and the big JSTs through adapters as i got a lot of cock up battery packs and always never ordering enough micro deans to fix them all, or ordering enough then passing them to other people.

er seems like i'm doing that again haha

                  Hi all

for me, i go with computer type of connect. Cheap and good. Micro Dean is popular in RC but I feel that it is more expensive.

If my electronics knowledge serve me right,

                  Power = I * I * R
                  where I = Ampere and R = Resistant

So if the resistant of normal connector is high, your power lost will be high. That means your connector will heat up. With that, if u feel your connector and it is not hot, then it is ok. That means your R is low.

Another way is to measure the resistant using Ohmmeter over the connector. If it is 0Ohms then it is ok.

note that its a little heavy, you'll need to be prepared to balance it out

true ..good point glen... its heavier then having the servo at the back ..just

mount the batteries infront of the frame and it should work

                              Hi all,

Can anyone post a pic of how a micro dean connector look like? Why is it so much more expensive than the JST ? Thanks!
