The older ESKY Honey Bee T 5003 uses a lighter and shorter tail boom than the 5005 and 5006. However, the newer ESKY Honey Bee T E003 uses the same main frame and tail boom as the E005 and E006. Consequently, it is larger and heavier than its 5003 predecessor, especially towards the tail area.
As a result, the included Ni-Mh 7.3V 300mAh Battery is a little too light to give it a well balanced Centre of Gravity (CG). In addition, due to its larger overall size and weight, the standard Ni-Mh 7.3V 300mAh Battery is also just sufficient for a decent short flight.
In our many test trials, we discovered that the Ni-Mh 8.4V 650mAh Battery is, in fact, a better match for the Honey Bee T E003. It fits nicely and snugly between the front skid as shown below. In addition to giving the helicopter a perfectly balanced CG, it also doubles the flight time!
So, if you're thinking of upgrading your battery, and is not ready to move on to Lithium Polymer Battery as yet, just grab a Ni-Mh 8.4V 650mAh Battery!
Do note that Ni-Mh Battery is also available in 9.6V 650mAh pack. But it is too heavy and does not physically fit the Honey Bee T E003 well.
