I just got my self KDS 450SV last weeks from Sky Hobbies. I am beginner too was try to setup from kit but never success so decide to go for RTF. When I brought He event test flight for me to made sure proper trim for beginner first flight.
I did very first flight yesterday on my own (After simulater and humble co-ax Lama) and no crash . It quite stable I was able practice to hover with in small area (around 5 x 5 meter). And second flight I can hover for few seccond. IMO This kit is good for beginner that need not to trouble to guess all setup and can just direct to practise for flying.
I am fly at woodlands any beginner in this area so we can learn to gether.

Bro why don't you go search the net for reviews on it ? For example youtube or other rc forums to check out its performance ? Then you can know more about it faster . Just my own opinion though .

You can also check out on the new models by KDS due sometime in June. KDS Innova, very sexy and best of all, its RTF.
            Heli-ADDICTION:
            Mikado Logos, RaptorG4s, X7F, 600ESP...
JUST one more Logo...for the month.

For me I think it's better to get a common Tx like futaba, spektrum. Reason being is because u will require more out of Tx as u progress in this hobby. Unless the price difference is marginal, my suggestion is to buy the kit only. I stay in woodlands too near sports school, if u have any prob I don't mind helping

                    Info on KDS SV

Bought one RTF about a fortnight ago at the same place IAmDrones bought from.

Very stable normal first flight with the stock KDS 7X II but crashed it while playing around with the dual rate and expo setting.

                    After that everything went downwards.

A couple of days later when i turned the TX on and plugged the battery in...the servo that is connected to ch 6 wacked itself out of position and would not respond tx input.
At first i thought it was the TX setting but discovered later the servo has died...replaced it and it flew normally.

A couple of days later...same thing happened but luckily i have spare servos in hand.

It happened again yesterday and today.
Total servo replaced to-date is 5 for that same channel.
I've bench tested the servos individually and it would not respond.

Same thing would happen when battery is connected and you turned off and on the TX while pressing down the MENU button on the KDS 7X II tx.

I've run out of servos and had to cannibalise those from my fixed wing models.
Before storing today, i unplugged the servo connected to ch 6 and hoped it would not give the same problem a couple of days later when the battery is plugged in.

What i plan to do is leave it unconnected when i plugged the battery in.
After everything settled, unplug the battery then connect the servo and battery back.

                    Could it be the gyro?
                    Hope Skyhobbies is open tomorrow.

                      Info on KDS 450SV

                      Hi Bro,

I'm also beginner like you.I’ve moved single rotor head from co-axial last 3 months back. I have both KDS 450C and 450SV. Both have pros and cons. KDS 450C is Trex 450 clone and KDS 450SV might be their own design. Both are nice built among the clone so you won't regret having it. I feel KDS 450SV is smoother bcz of DD belt driven system. With fully charge lipo can give you about 10min (max) flight time. But KDS 450C, the frame is more rigid feeling but nosier as double gear. KDS 450SV seem bigger then 450C due to the design. Both pretty stable during hovering. I love the SV

But for the servos, U should upgrade to Metal gear or better servos, as the stock servos gears may slip when you have a bit harsh landing. It happened to me time to time. Stock Gyro and KDS tail servo are great so no need to change I support. They are wonderful and much stable then I expected.

I already changeed tower pro 9g 1/2 metal gear servos to my KDS 450C cyclic and since then they serve me well and some more they are cheap $30 only for 3. No problem so far. Fly few times only with KDS 450SV as she is a beauty & quite new, so I fly with care, no crush so far..

Skyhobbies is selling KDS metal gear servos. I haven't try yet. Might better than stock servos for sure.

I found out that HB FP V2 flybar is replaceable to KDS and longer than KDS flybar, after I replaced noticeably stable than before. U may put a little bit weight on the flybar , will gives you more stable in hovering exercise. Proven to me.

I won't recommend wooden blade as they are not stable at high speed spinning. u know what you will end-up balancing the blade and will crush bcz of that unstable spinning. Nowadays CF blade are cheap at $12 only. I do not use wooden blade since I start to fly 450size heli.

Happy flying bro.. happy to share about KDS. I do not have serious crushes so far .. May be I’m lucky.

So if you have budget for KDS go for it bro.. but remember to upgrade servos and lock all the screws with screw locking glue. Mostly to rotor head & tail. I lost one screw from rotor head during flight luckily no serious happened.

Feel free to PM me .. I’m not pro but I would help you with my limited experiences and share all the knowledge that I had so far.

P.S - After unboxing the SV, she is tail heavier even you plug in battery. Pls buy weight balancer.perfect CG is easier to hover. believe me!

                      We all are hobby brothers!

                      Cheers!

hi bro... heli noob too over here...
i bought 450SV too the other day from Derrick (good bro) and the heli is a real beauty.
haven't change anything, except the main rotor blade with wooden blade...stable so far, no crash..but become jittery lately...change the blade again..and it's stable again... I agreed with RC_999 about the wooden blade...spent too many times balancing the blade... going to change to cf or fiberglass instead of the wooden later on.
ow, I also added 80 gr lead weight to the front part at the battery holder, to get perfect CG... hover very stable so far...
                            very satisfied with KDS 450SV
                            Currently learn to hover with:
Phoenix v.3 (most of the time)

Hi Bros, i am a beginner and i just bought a 450SV recently.

During the purchase, it was tested and working fine.. however when i when home and pluck in the battery (after charging) to try.. nothing works and just beeping sound and light flashing..

                              Thot was RTF..

Do i need to bind the receiver and transmitter as stated on the menu ?

How to bind it if require ? cant figure out from the menu ?

                              Any advice.. Thanks..
