    coolpower or wildcat?

tried some wildcat 15% today with some guys from woodlands, after readjusting the needles, the engine performed nicely. i have to honestly say the 15% wildcat was slightly more powerful than the 20% coolpower i've been using so far. the engine does not run as cool but the smoke and power indications were that it was tuned right.

i would like to know how many use wildcat and coolpower and their general experience with both. i would also like to re-check that the price of 15% wildcat is $29?

Yeah.....wildcat lesser smoke....so if you're to tune it by seeing smoke output, then most probably you're leaning too much, which will result in overheating.....that's why u're seeing the power increment too...coz u're running LEANer than usual...

            me using wildcat also
used it cos of the 18% oil compared to 17% of coolpower.
wildcat oso uses higher viscosity oil than CP 15% so engine has better protection

i thing to note is that i find that with wildcat 15%,my backplate is hotter .I can only hold there for abt 4 second b4 my finger get burnt, but still feel that performance is still not there yet, tried to do 'soft'collective pumping ...throttle control still sluggish. But there are other factors such as collective servo(S3001)
me too afraid to lean out some more.

dunno if this happens to CP 15% oso
                    Juz curious...anyone tried CP 25% airplane b4??It's only $35 @ Rotor

Hi guys, where to get the wildcat fuel?
would like to try, it may cut cost of running 20% coolpower.

                      Thanks

guys, sorry for bringing back an old post.

But i have to ask...if the engine was tuned by smoke output for wildcat, wouldn't that mean that the engine is rich??Look at the smoke produced by WC15% compared to CP20%.WC produces MUCH less smoke!
If WC fuel was smoking as badly as CP20%, it would have to be REAL rich and NOT lean right?

i always thought that rich would be smokey and close to no smoke would mean lean.
                          Correct me if im wrong

                            i tried wilcat 15% and cp 15%
wilcat beats it hands down in terms of power
                            smoke or no smoke,
                            hotter or not,
                            me not sure.

not sure if you should be tuning the engine with respect to the amount of smoke coming out. that should just be a very rough indication only
