CC60A without BEC enough for Trex 500?

whats the use of a BEC?

    #2
BEC eliminates the use of a rx batt. There are 2 types of BEC, built-in to your ESC or a separate unit by itself.

Then there are another 2 types branched out from each of the above types, linear and switching.

Lets say your 500 uses 6cell battery, if your CC60A has built-in linear BEC, then a separate BEC is a must.

In any case, a independent BEC may save you when your ESC fails you.

Invest in a good BEC. It will be cheaper than a crash due to failure of ESC.

        Get a peace of mind.
Too many models , so little time

the cc60 has a linear bec which is gd for upto 3s only. Get an external switching BEC to pair with it.

          eg. turnigy 5A
          HW 5A
          cc BEC 5-10A
          sportBEC

          etc

btw the cc60 maybe abit small for the trex500.. for light and sports flying should be ok though..

I know a few ESC with built in switching BEC, eg. Align 60A (stock T500 ESC), Kontronic Jive, Hobbywing Platinum.

So far I've been using the Align 60A without any problem.
