anyone using the HS225BB or MG for their Trex 500

    Hi guys,

wondering if there is anybody out there using the above servo for their Trex 500...

Trying to take advantage of the present 20% discount to upgrade my cyclic servo..

Presently I'm using the HS 82MG

    HS 82MG (low end)

    4.8/6V... 2.8kgcm/3.4kgcm... 0.12/0.10sec
    29.8 X 12 X 29.6
    19g $35.90

    HB 5245MG Digital (high end)

    4.8/6V.. 4.3kgcm/5.4kgcm... 0.15/0.12sec
    32 X 17 X 31
    31g $74.50

I thought this will be a good inbetween servo interms of spec and price..

    HS 225 BB/MG (in-between both end)......

    4.8/6V.. 3.9kgcm/4.7kgcm... 0.14/0.11sec
    32 X 17 X 31
26.9g $36.00 for BB and $49.40 for MG..

    feel free to comment...

    cheers

I was using HS5245MG for my Protos. Good enough for what most can do. I changed to HS225 plastic gear because during crash there is high chance MG will be ok but servo motor gets burnt. I have changed 2 servos because motor burnt inside of metal gears stripped.

well... you can crash often to change new 225 gears

I only used HS82 and HS5245. HS5245 is definitely bang for buck. At almost 70 per piece after discount, its quite reasonable, for the performance you're getting.

Hey, does anyone knows if the HS82s can fit a trex 450?

For Protos, I have a UBEC running at 5.3V for my RX.

Good time to order from overseas. Finally they're not pressing SGD down. We're getting a good conversion. Why wait?
You should consider Align 510 for your 500 size. They are cheap and I have seen alot of positive comments in Helifreak.

PMed you. Its not new actually. Been out for sometime. There're 4 series, 400 500 and 600. For 500 size you're look at the 510 for cyclics and 520 for tail.
Gilera80 using 520 together with his align 750 gyro, performance is very good.
But my judgement is weird, end of day Spartan JR770 Align750 all has the same performance.

                            thanks bro,

haa haa haa... ive not try anything else beside 240, 401, and 611... so far all the above have given me good result..

But I'm not good enough to really judge witch one is better...

I suppost when you reach a higher level of flying to be able to tell the diff....

and there is so much diff setting with diff gyro to get the best out of each gyro..

                            anyway thanks for the help..

see how my year end bonus is... so far no news yet...

                              Yoz Quester,
                              I saw your HF post.
It seems the 'problem' about the Align servo moving to the end during initialisation is not really a problem but just a characteristic.
I believe I have seen other servos doing the same thing, in SG.
But look at products, there is always isolated cases of defective ones, just a matter of 1:1000 or 1:500 depending on our donkey luck
That said, if there is no pressing reason to upgrade your HS82, why do so? Save the budget for something else
and change that single HS82, IF you are willing to fly normal sports flying with your Heli

There're some discounts going on in LHS for Hitec servos.

Or you can consider Hyperion servos available in Skyhobbies

                              Or Inlab servos in RCS
