I have got one almost 3yrs and still working, ard 40+gallons of usage, almost 3/4 of that on throttle though. Its notchy and twitch a bit on the bench occasionally, but otherwise, works fine in the air.
make sure your gyro gain channel is plugged into the right channel. In JR, it's NOT the gear channel. I've encountered cases where the gain plug was in the gear channel and consequently it means the gain was 100%. Needless to say the 9254 kept failing.
Test that your remote gain is working properly by setting it to below 50%. The red light should extinguish, indicating non-headholding mode.
There are 2 ways to configure remote gyro gain on JR radio
1) Channel 7 (Aux 2) - have three settings to assign to up to 6 flight modes
2) Channel 5 (Gear) - the setting is set by changing the ATV, this is useful if your RX is 5 or 6 channels
I’ve tried both and they work, method 1 on my Mini-Titan and method 2 on my HoneyBee CP2.
Preference will goes to the first if have 7 or more channels on the RX.
Oh... I’m using the 9254 on my Mini-Titan with 5V, about five months now and loving it.
Here a few things to check
- no 6V, it kills S9254
- make sure no binding
- smooth travel between full left and right
- set remote gain to suit flying style
