    introduction

    hi guys,

Im based in the uk and have been flying all sorts of stuff since i was a kid and been flying helis for about 6 years.

more recently i have been flying compass models helped with developement, promotion and support. Im currently testing the new 90 which is looking very promising some very cool features and very different ideas making it very light and very powerful and the compass style head making it responsive without loosing accuracy.

The other thing i have been involved in over the past couple of years is phoenix simulator. Its been one hell of a challenge forcing me to improve my helicopter aerodynamics understanding.

if your have any questions about phoenix or compass models feel free to ask. If i dont know the answer i will know somebody that does!

    thanks,

    Ade

Hi and welcome to our little humble forum, Ade

I'm afriad phoenix or compass models aren't very available here in this part of the world.
However having said that, I must admit that the UK helis are pretty cool ! ...especially the new birds from Avro.

    Cheers mate !

Actually Pheonix is here already. Can be bought from Hobby Shack for $280.

Nice sim. Very realistic and detailed modeling. but I really prefer to have training modes and lessons like in G4.

dont worry phoenix are working on lots of cool stuff. No point having cool training stuff if the physics arent up to scratch tho.

cool stuff going on in compass too. the knight 50 3d is a great flier, no upgrades needed and will take anything you can throw at it. the knight 50 sport is very capable heli, durable and cheap.

here is a video of the knight 50 3d

I had a play on the Knight 3d E recently... 8s, silly power not too expensive either.

Store your photos and videos online with secure storage from Photobucket. Available on iOS, Android and desktop. Securely backup your memories and sign up today!

I have a prototype 90 that im playing with at the moment, electric cooling fan frees up some space and an inverted clutch stack makes it very short. 4.3kg all up + fuel compared to a synergy which is about 4.6kg and the old raptor 90 at 5kg.

here is a video of the 90, Note this is the 3d canopy it will not come with this canopy but shows how compact it is.

Finally compass are working on a 500 size called the atom which if he gets the power system the same as he did the 3d E its going to be mental!

Sorry... this is starting to sound like an advert!

cool. Mr Yap and gang came to Singapore during 3DX with his compass model. unfortunately the compass model is abit difficult to get spares in Singapore.

            NICE FLYING!

Wow ! ...great flying there Ade, I'm sure Compass models will do great with you helping with the developement, promotion and support of their helis.

Anyone speaking to anyone with regards to a distributor in Asia region ?
or more specifically, in Singapore ?

Our SEA distro...and NTC is local distro according to them...but knowing how NTC markup prices

K3D from knight hobby is 1600rm, around 700sin? Heliproz only ard 550sin...both prices exclude GST...so if you include shipping and all the hassle to get parts, I think the x-50 might be a much better deal for us.

I know the guy who designed and manufactured the Compass Heli product line. The old man did a good job producing these cheap and good performances heli. And I know alot of guys flying in Tin shui wai are switching from Raptor to the Knight 50.

If I can get Knight 50 within my budget.

If I can get Knight 50 w/motor, blade, ESC and BEC within my budget around S$400-500. I will definitely get one without a second delay. At the same time I help you brother Ade Law to mouth advertise too. Don't forget not most of the heli pilot are online person. There's quite a number of pilots whom i know that don't surf net. Some people like to get a feel of something before buying it. From what I know they prefer Heli which is good, user-friendly and affordable. Most importantly is able to get the parts cheap.

                          That's imossible I'd say.
A pair of funkey FRP blades costs around S$70.
An OS50hyper or TT redline 53 engine costs around $270.

If you have a budget of $500, that leaves $160 for the heli which is rediculous.
From other USA-based online vendors, the Knight50 sport costs 260USD while the Knight50 3D costs 450USD.

Yes, for NTC SG they are not carrying any Compass Model heli parts at the moment and we have some parts at NTC Malaysia for web ordering through http://www.myrcstore.com.
