Airtronics Receiver advice

Just got myself the above for my JR transmitter and when I plugged it in.... the servos for my heli keep chatting!! Both Tx and Rx batts are fully charged, and I've tried moving to various distances apart to test it, but still chatting....

My other JR Rx works fine (for my big heli).... any ideas why this might be the case and suggestions on how to fix it?

That's strange I never got that, even when I was using Airtonics Tx with the Rx, or Airtronics Tx with JR Rx. You might want to test it out without installing it on the model at the flying field?

hmm... so test the Rx outside of the model...? but then what could that mean... that the RX cant be used with the model!!? Friend of mine said could be the carbon frame?

I get servo chatter sometimes when I test electronics at home. Don't get it anymore these few years? It could be the carbon frame.

what i meant was.. was the rx meant for JR or futaba compatible? one is +shift and the other is -ve..

newer ones autoshift


would help if u post some pics of ur layout as well..

PS:alot of ppl get glitches although their layout is tidy, because of wrong placement of electronics and routing

thanks! It's only for JR... (the Rx that is) I havent actually fixed in everything yet... just plugged in to test, RX is just hanging there, outside the body, with ant also not touching anything....

if it is new, u may want to go back to the store i guess.. as i doubt u'll want to use the rx

i do get servo chatter sometimes(especially when my hands are near the antenna) as well but it comes and goes

did u get the rx xtal from the same store as well? Cause the art rx may need it own rx to work with jr or futaba..

Had the same problems with my heli once about the twitchy servos. Can try this, place a ferrite core through the esc wire which connects to CH1. Maybe noise is travelling through the cable.

Check your spacing of your receiver to the esc. Make sure that it is as far as possible.

Make sure that antenna is extended through a tube (as in belt cp on the landing gear)

If all else fails. U can buy copper tape to wrap round the rx & esc wire to the rx (to use as a shielding for the EMI signals.)

thanks guys for all the tips! i bought the receiver from one store and the crystal from another as the first store didn't carry 29 Mhz crystals. The receiver clearly is for JR, and the crystal too... so...umm.. think they 'fit' unless there's something else I didn't look out for?

thanks for the advice about the ferrite rings.. tried that before on others but need to get one for this to try.. never heard about copper wires though! will try!
