    Gyro question?

    Hello guys

having a gyro issue which i usually ignore as i was still too noob to care about it until now.

when i turn my heli rudder leftwards (anti-clockwise looking down at it) and i stop the piro, the heli tail stops very hard and sudden, which is the way i like it.

but when i piro right (clockwise looking down) and i stop, the tail doesnt stop hard. instead its like a really soft stop and it is sort of mushy, like keeps goin abit then stop. so its really hard to stop it at the exact point i want.

is this a setting issue? or some mechanical set up issue which i missed out?

currently using Align HH gyro and 9650.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm suspecting is the mechanical setup. try adjusting the position of ur servo in non-head hold mode until your heli holds the tail w/o much drifting. After that, turn on back the HH & see does the problem goes away

like john said.... ur servo is creeping.... set ur trims or subs trims until there is no more creep for more infohttp://video.helifreak.com/tmp/21a6422d81d1ce6cf4b9e389eac2be56/tail_gyro.wmv?downloadmedia

Dun think its servo creep kira, servo creep will make ur heli drift when hover. my heli holds ok at hover.

like john suggested, i moved my servo mount to center my pitch slider abit more. seems to improve it a bit but definitely CCW piro stops harder than CW.

hmm.. jason, i have no idea how to get gyro working properly in yaw rate mode. whenever i set yaw mode, my tail will start drifting like crazy, probably not enough gain. i dunno lah. rainin now no time to experiment.

anw, i think its good enough for now. might be that the align gyro too "laupok" and cannot stop properly. hah.

I suppose gyro plays a part too. However I did realise in most cases clockwise piro, the tail doesn't snap as much as anti-clockwise piro. This might be due to the torque generated by the rotor head and blades which the gyro needs to counter during clockwise piro. This is my assumption, do correct me if I'm wrong

Hi, the last time I had this same problem, I tighten the belt on my TREX SE and its ok (I am using 401+9257). No sure if it will work on your setup. You might like to try.
