    Mini Titan problem

    Hi there,

I just did a tail overhaul, and on the last flight runs, I found that my motor and ESC are running very hot. When I hover, without touching the throttle, I will experience sudden drop in headspeed, and when I apply right rudder, the headspeed will also drop. My flight time also has dropped by half as well afterwhich my cell voltage has dropped to the level that I need to recharge. I currently have a Castle Creation 35 ESC, JGF 450th, on a 3s setup. Could I have burnt the motor or ESC out?

it could be the ESC that is degrading.. maybe u should try another ESC.

      hi

you didnt adjust anything from before on the ESC right?

sounds like something is binding in your mechanics. does ur rotor spin freely when u spin it by hand? check ur belt tightness and orientation? it might be twisted inside the boom. check all linkages for binding, twisted etc.

CC35, 450TH is a v robust combination, i using CC35 myself. wouldnt die so easily one.

Good luck with tracking your problem down!

oh, doesnt bind when on ground doesnt mean it wouldnt bind up on u in flight under stress/load.

i have had a tail where it is free when i spin it on ground by hand but binds up v tight on flight. nearly crashed cause of it. u can immediately tell if something is binding in flight if the heli behaves strangely or not responsive. tail kicks, tail not holding, cyclic doesnt centre etc etc.

          bro check up out helifreak.com
there is one video on CC esc set up. Very helpfull. I am on CC45, Jgf 500th.at first also same problem yours. Btw JGF motor are recommended to ran at mid or high timming on the ESC as its a high speed motor.

Might be the tail belt twisted, I will overhaul later. The ESC had previously been setup correctly with USB link, and chopper was running fine till last boom strike which required a new tail. Anyway just a quick update, I replaced the main rotor shaft because it was slightly bent, but I really do not think that would cause the motor to load the way it currently is, will try to track this problem down slowly.

By the way, would I be able to run the 500th with 12t on cc35 and 3s setup?
