    Hi guys,

Just curious, I just bought a a 3100kv motor/25A esc combo and fitted into my Honeybee King 1. I then supplied it with a 1000mh lipo battery (10c). When I tried to fly it, it has problem lifting up.... I have checked the pitch of my blades and they are ok..... what's wrong with my setup?

    Any problem with the battery?

do you have any problems before you change out the motor and esc?

I don think the motor is under power. I am using 3100kv motor & 25A ESC on my King2 with a DN 1350mah 3S.

Try with other lipo or check other setup???
After so many years, I am still a beginner

I guess maybe my gear meshing is too tight.....quite noisy when I start up.... as for the battery, I wonder whether it is capable of delievering that amount of power to the heli....... 3100kv match with a 1000mh lipo and a stock tx.

I faced no problem when change out my esc and motor, only just that the pinion on the motor seems to be too tight with the main drive gear.

Looks like the main cause is the gear meshing. I'm hovering using the Esky 3800kv with the stock 1000mAh lipo, and there is no problem with lift.

i got the same combination as you, 3100kv motor n using 1000mah 10c batt.

r u using the 9T pinion, i was using that 9T when i change to the 3100kv, still can lift off but i see the difference when i change to a 11T pinion, turn the left knob-pitch trim about 1/2 mark left, so u can get more head speed before lift off

hold the motor tight and move the main gear, u should get about 1mm of movement, then check at 12,3,6, & 9 o'clock position of the main gear, make sure all should have the same clearance

If there's a gear meshing issue better fix it quick before trying to fly it. it might cause high amp draw and burn your esc.

don't overdo the pitch. too much will burn your esc + your heli might not even fly also. unplug the motor, go into idle up, put throttle in midstick. both blades should be flat, i.e. 0 degrees.

.. and remember to put back to normal mode, unplug your battery before you plug back the motor
