Can RC helis have a NOTAR system?

I guess this is a qn for SH... can RC helis have a No Tail Rotor (NOTAR) system? I would be curious to know.

Of course not for 3D flying, but maybe it would apply for scale flying, like the MD500. A small fan should exist for rudder control near the engine /motor area, at the same time providing cooling. Sounds logical?

Yup! Vario already have it. U can either search around Vario for the video or search this forum.

Using small fan to mimic the real one is not strong enough. U need powerful airflow.

1. NOTAR
2. Fenestron Tail

someone in rcgroup.com is trying to do one using a 4 bladed FP ..still r&d.. problem with getting enuff airflow for tail authority.

Yup... someone in RunRyder tried to use EDF40 or 30 during GWS Dragonfly or Hornet II era. The project failed and scrap. EDF40 too weak and eats too much power (During that time).

I think to really use airflow, maybe someone have to come out a tiny turbine fan, kind like cascading ducted fan to produce enough thrust.

3. Stabilizer Arm/Bar - Exact mimic/working of the real UH-1 Huey stabilizer bar.
{ Again, all 3 stuff above does exist and produce by Vario but all are big heli }
