    Help me decide!!

hey people,i am in a dilema....i am still a student
i am not sure whether to upgrade my problematic Honey Bee KingI(not 2 hbk the first generation) from the ready to fly kit or just buy another Drgonfly and use my new optic6 to fly
I can't use my optic6 to fly my HBK cause the receiver from Esky cannot read the optic6 transmisions
    option A):To upgrade:new gyro S$80++ , new receiver(Hitec)S$70++ ,King II kit S$100-$150
option B):To buy a Dragonfly:roughly S$260(transfering some parts from HBK)

    HELP ME DECIDE

*i don't mind downgrading to a fixed pitch as long as it could be flown out doors

since you have a hbk 1, just get the king 2.. if you dont mind, get gyro:gy240 and a king 2 kit is only $100. rx=$39(http://www.jethobby.com.sg/cgi-bin/e...on=list&cid=11) then transfer your electronics from king1 to the new kit and it'll be RTF. dont get a fp cause it will not fly well in outdoor(open field). i myself owns a fp and now tempted to get king 2

actually you could upgrade your king I by replacing certain parts to make it a king II. Btw if you retain the shaft driven set up, all you need is to buy new canopy, battery holder and skids. It is more cost efficient from my point of view.
      I'm back!!!!

The last time I heard to convert a King 1 to a King 2 is roughly around $80, if you are willing to pay a bit more, get a King 2 kit only and transfer all electronics to it from your King 1 and use your King 1 as spares. You may like to get a compatible reciever for your Optic 6, it's cheaper thou.

If you are choosing only between the King 2 and Dragonfly, I would say the King 2 is a better bet, reason is because of the amt of ppl flying it now, you can easily get help from the bros here in DH.

        Just my 2 cents

              5) receiver/airtecnic($35/from jethobby)
              total:$335

              mini titan:
              1) kit with motor and esc($333)
              2) three servos(hs55/total:$78)
              4) gyro and tail servo: gy240 and hs81($168 + $30 from jethobby/rotor)
              5) receiver/airtecnic($35/from jethobby)
              total:$600

belt-cp(rating is between king 2 and mini titan):
              1) kit($109 from aerosmith-hobby)
              2) esky brushless motor and esc($85 from RCEhobby)
              3) three servos(hs55/total:$78)
              4) gyro and tail servo: gy240 and hs81($168 + $30 from jethobby/rotor)
              5) receiver/airtecnic($35/from jethobby)

                Hahaha, upzz for you bro

aerfuax you can consider this suggestion as well.

Thou this option may doubled your budget, but it's a good investment plus you'll get a real good heli.

Get a reciever which can work with your optic 6. change the skids(about 7 bucks), battery holder (5.30 bucks) and a new canopy (10 plus a few cents), you will have a shaft driven honeybee King I which looks like king II. then save up for a second hand gyro (Gy240 abt 100 for second hand) then upgrade the shaft driven tail to belt. This might be suitable with your budget constrant.
                      I'm back!!!!

Hmmm... I suggest go for the King 2 then.

As for Gyro, you can try the Esky HH Gyro, a few of the bros here have used it and they commented it's not bad. Or you can try the Telebee HH Gyro which I'm using, my comments for that Gyro...not too good and not too bad but it's very affordable and it's way better than the King 2 stock Gyro.

Telebee gyro can be purchased online:

To get the GY240 at $100, you have to follow closely to the market place and have to be super quick with your keyboard

since you have a optic 6, cheap option is to buy a honeybee king 2 kit and add in the rest of the stuff. add another $120 or so and you can get a mini titan!

if you stay in this hobby long enough, you'll want to upgrade to a collective pitch rather than a fixed pitch. the advantage of having a fixed pitch is that its very easy to repair.

the stock esky gyro is non-heading hold which makes flying a little difficult.
i suggest you hunt around for a 2nd hand gy240 at $100. if you go buy some non-heading hold gyro, you'll likely regret it later.
