    setting exponential and dual rate

    hi guy,

Need help in setting exponential and dual rate..

    I'm using a JR9Xii..

Do I dial in a positive value to decress the sensitivity at center stick or negetive value...

    what about dual rate..

I only know for normal mode you use a lower percentage, and for Idle 1 to use a higher percentage..

why do you set dual rate.. what's the advantage and disadvantage...

    thks in advance..

eh broi, i have a JR english manual...think same model. can send to u.

Expo is set sensitivity on middle stick or end stick. U will still hv full servo travel.

For dual rate, u limit the servo travel. Eg 100% travel, u set 70% and it only move max. to 70% not 100% travel.

        hi bro,

yes i have the english manual too..

that's what it say.. exponential to set your desire setting.. didn't say positive or negetive setting..

so does it mean if you set your servo max travel at 100% to +10 degree.. and you set dual rate to 70%.. it bring it down to +7degree..

if thats the case... why do you want to set it like this.. what's the purpose..

        hi lampard,

        thanks for the link..

              In JR,
positive Expo means less sensitive near the middle of the stick. and negative means more sensitive.

Some how most JR manual don't mention that. But its in mine

                hi bro,

                thanks for responding..

so far my understanding for expo is you get less sensitive at mid stick(+ve setting) but still get your full sensitivity at full stick..

and for dual rate setting( with a lesser % setting say 70%) you still get your full servo travel but less sensitive through out..linear..

do correct me if I'm wrong..

positive expo is less sensative for JR radios.
                  vice versa for Futaba radios

                    Oh ya to add,
i dont think there really is a need to use dual rates especially if you're running a nitro machine. I personally dont.

In normal mode, your RPM will be low enough for it to be relatively stable. Once you flip into idle up, your RPM increases and you get better cyclic authority.

YOur understanding of the expo is consistent with the JR manual.
As for the Dual rate, using your example of 70%, the servo will only travel till 70% of the full travel capability of the servo.

To use another example, let say your car is capable of travelling 100km/hr but you have a dual rate set on your car to say 70%. So even if you floor the accelerator to the max, your car will only go at 70km/hr.

                      Clear?
