Any difference flying helis between DX6 and DX7?

Hi guys, I have a DX6 which i'm very happy with. there's a new DX7 out which cost a little more and has 5 point throttle curves. Anyone who tried both radios can give any feedback?

if there is some significant improvement, i'm gonna switch!

well i thought the 5 point curve would be the big plus. i've used the dx6 and the 3 point curve and (unfriendly) interface had me turned off. i hope the dx7 user interface would be closer to the higher end JR radios since spektrum's a spinoff from JR.

actually i'm quite used to the dx6 already. the controls were initially a bit awkward, but now not a problem.

only want to know if there is a big improvement so i can find excuse to switch..haha.

Actually i feel there is little reason to switch from DX6 to DX7. Why not wait for the DX9 or JR's 2.4ghz 9303 to be released.

The switch of transmitters would be more worthwhile then.

well quite true in some sense, but i never felt the need for 9ch? (drop parachutes, onboard cam? nah...) so most people get a 9ch is because of some weirdo very advanced type features like gliders and all that dingdong we don't really need on a heli. 7ch is just about all we need, if you run a governor.

hmm, whats a governor? i know some of my esc have governor but i never bothered with that function.

some people say that dx7 have faster response time compared to dx6. i already think dx6 quite ok. not sure if will find any big diff with dx7.

costwise, at 599, only 200 more than dx6, and have 4x digital servo some more.

                    yes

yes ...you will find the difference of a dx6 256bit compare to even JR PCM at 1024 bits. (JR9CXII), you will feel the Heli a lot more "Lock On" to you control.

Can't wait to get my xtreme to see how much better LOCK i will get.

But for sure moving from Dx6 to JR PCXII PCM make a different.
In fact this make me confirm that when I move from my Futaba 9C to DX6 to get 2.4Ghz, i did loose the "LOCK IN" feel that I use to have.

I do agreed going to JR9CXII is a good thing, for one you got 7 poont curve for throttle and pitch. And you can use xtremem with it.

                    regards,
                    Jonathan

i c. so the response of the dx6 is comparatively slower causing such a feeling?
hmm once i can fly upside down i may then consider dx7. right now i can fly all orientations right side up. just need a bit of courage to go upside down on the real heli..haha

cos i was thinking, with my landiao skill level, dx7 maybe overkill. 7 channel also dunno wat to use the 7th for. maybe beeper to activate in case i crash somewhere far away

1 channel can also use for shooting out flares!!

For eCCPM 90, u need channel 7 or 8 (can't remember which one liau).

If u really crazy on it, actually 9Channels can easily runs out. Retractable wheels (bell 222 or airwolf), flare, missile, independent channel for movable guns (apache/cobra), Navigation lights, Cargo hook/bambi bucket and the list goes on.

Using numerical display like optic 6 or DX6 as compare to graphical display like 9CHP or 9X or DX7 is like using command/shell prompt and Gnome/KDE/Windows in computer OS. Both can do the same thing but the graphical display is easier to configure and easier to understand.

its not about the channels but more rather its the features that each transmter has to offer.
I never used more than 7 channels but i dont know what life wil be life if i had had gotten the eclipse 7(which i was considering in the past) since its Throttle Hold button is at the bottom of the tx rather than it being a switch!
