JR ES375 fits perfectly. No trimming no glitch..

Why bother ? ......in the end, the servos still develop backlash faster than you can say "SLOP" !

Hey guys, how's the below config?

Do I really need a digital servo for tail? Or HS 65HB will do?

Trying to keep the cost down.

              Thanks!

i'll not advise a hs65 for the tail, it might be too slow..

                go for the s3154

at the same time, i do believe I have heard of s3154 not having the durabilty to hold out over time.

9650 or hs81 are also alternatives.

I believe is the HS81 is a cost effective solution for your current situation even after you roll and flip. That is, unless you already can do inverted hover too.

                  Just a my 2 cents

s3154 has to be run at 5V or less and not at 6V. I have used mine for quite some time and the electronics are still gd, though i have changed the casing.

i personally feel that the logictech doesnt hold the tail that well with analog servos, that's why it is either the s3154 or 9650. someone also recommended a HDS877(not sure of the model no.) i think

i personally am using the hds 877 with gy240. i don't fly 3d, and just some FF so far, but when i switch to 15t with my apache motor, which is a a20-6xl hacker clone, i had yet to measure headspeed, but my tail was not holding well anymore. just barely.

there are other complains in the past by other forums about how quickly it fail in 10 flights, and about how this is caused by binding, thus inducing high current in the servo. but I don't know the facts about this batch on, for it has served me well in 10 packs of flight with 13t.

perhaps you want to do your homework with this. a bad tail could make a bad day.

it may help to run ur tail servo in ds mode(since it is digital), but u'll have to upgrade ur gyro to a 401 or logictech liao...

btw, have u been involved in any crashes lately? i am asking because I was previously having a hard time getting the tail to hold again after a crash.. after another subsequent crash then i discovered a slightly crack tail case and also a tail gear that is slipping. u may want to have a look

Well i have heard numerous reports about it not being able to handle the stress from a 401 in DS mode. I know it sounds ironic, but it seems there is so much pulse current or whatever that it fries the motor or something.

However, the crash check suggestion seems interesting. I will look into that.
