    Carbon rod = itchy powder

Made a noob mistake yesterday...anywhere noob makes noob mistake

I have a crack tail boom on my FP. So I follow some of the advise here to drill out the remaining rod that is stuck in the frame...

Made the mistake of drilling it while olding it over my legs....the carbon fillings starts to drop on my skin...guess what happen next? I was reminded of what itchy powder feels like in my sec sch days whole leg was itchy for the entire night..

So just want to remind those that is doing that...dont let the fillings touch your skin hor...

It is the tiny fibres that cause the itchiness. Same goes for glass fibre n other fibre materials.

While working, my whole body came into contact wif fibre n my whole body itch like hell!!!

Yup... It is the fiber that is itch. If I'm not wrong, the fiber is like spiky thing that poke onto your skin (just like some grass thorn). The more u rub it, the more worse it become because the fiber poke even deeper.

Normally I wash it with soap/detergent with lightly rubbing.

This is what I do when I drill/cut fiber tube/plate:

      1. Either soak the thing with water or cut/drill with water running
      2. Stick/Wrap the plate/tube with masking tape. Then cut over the masking tape.

And for that extra protection wear a mask. The spiky carbon fibres can latch on to your lungs if you accidentally inhale them.

The most effective way is to:

                    - rub cooking oil on affected area
                    - flush away the oil with fresh water
                    - wash again with soap

                    Cheers

It will be stuck there in the lungs!!!

When u grow old, u will have difficulty in breathing and u will see a specialist. They will conduct all kinds of test and finally, operate n remove it from ur lungs.

Tis happened to my former colleague's father. The father is in the same organisation as my colleague n me. Ownself come out money for such medical cost.

Tis is a true story!!! Shall not go into details in case ppl from the same organisation is reading here. Tis organisation very big, every guy will join when they reach 18yrs old.
