Went flying today in very humid environment with occasional light rain.
1st flight was tested with the CarbSmart at 75% sensitivity and set temperature of 110 degreeC. The flight went very well with consistence sounding engine and very little bogging (tested with tictoc mostly).
On 2nd flight, set temperature was reduced to 100 degreeC. The flight went just as well, however with a little more bogging. Maybe I should run my OS50 in 110 degreeC?
After loading the heli for a good 3min, I landed it and set it on throttle hold and noticed that the CarbSmart was holding the needle at the far end “RICH” (around 1 3/4 turn) position of the engine.
It went back to the far end “LEAN” position (around 0.8 turn) of the engine just 5 seconds after I put it on hold.
Before CarbSmart, i was flying with 1 turn !! so ive been running it too lean!!
I was still able to place my finger at the base of the engine for 4 seconds with 1 turn though.
Since the CarbSmart was holding on to the far end “RICH” position after I load up the engine, will mechanically richen the needle by few clicks to give it more room to dynamically adjust the needle. I aim to get the CarbSmart to position at midpoint when i load it up.
Also, I did not feel any performance hit with the added weight (CarbSmart + HS81) on my already heavy raptor. Infact, the gain outweights the extra grams!
how do u power the Carbsmart?? through an extra channel in receiver?? Y plug directly from BEC?? as for settings does it need the TX or is everything adjustable onboard the Carbsmart??
thinking cause i have DX7 which is 7 channel, if use governer then no more channels left liao.
Yep, lu wei yao answered that, just Y plug from existing channel if no more free channel, it requires only voltage input. Not programmble from TX.

hey Bro, read the latest Helicopter magazine and there was a review of Carbsmart. The reviewer similarly like you achieved the best result with 110 degree setting with no bogging and consistent engine running.
This is temptin me man kekeke.
Stop looking for a gyro in my plane, they are all in the head.
